Meet Our Doctors


Dr. W.M. Honea, DVM 

Dr. William “Matt” Honea grew up in Haughton, La and graduated from Haughton High School. He pursued undergraduate studies in Animal Science at Louisiana Tech University and then received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. After graduation, Dr.Honea returned to Bossier parish where he joined a busy mixed-animal practice for 4 years. He then took the opportunity to join an equine referral hospital where he served as the primary reproductive veterinarian and gained valuable experience in surgery, internal medicine and critical care over 3.5 years. Since June 2017 Dr. Honea has become the primary veterinarian and owner of North Airline Animal Hospital.

Dr. Honea’s interests include soft tissue/orthopedic surgery,internal medicine, preventative medicine and ultrasonography. He strives to provide excellent patient care while making sure pet owners feel informed on all aspects of their pet’s medical care.





Dr. James M. Lasiter, DVM (part-time)

Dr. James M. Lasiter grew up in Bossier City and graduated from Parkway High School. He then attended Louisiana Tech University where he graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. Dr. Lasiter then attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge where he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2001. After graduating from Veterinary School, Dr. Lasiter moved to Ocala, FL where he worked in a busy Small Animal and Equine practice gaining valuable experience in medicine and surgery. From Florida, Dr. Lasiter moved back to LA and spent 2 years in another busy animal hospital. Dr. Lasiter opened North Airline Animal Hospital in 2006 where he was the primary veterinarian for many years. He is now a part-time veterinarian of North Airline Animal Hospital.

Dr. Lasiter's professional interests include laser surgery, orthopedic surgery, internal medicine, and preventive and geriatric medicine. He is a member of many professional organizations including the American Veterinary Medical Association & Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Lasiter's goal is to provide excellent client service and treat each patient like family, while providing state-of-the-art medical care for pets.
